Author

Khaiser Jahan Begum: She has obtained an MLISc, Ph.D., from the University of Mysore. She has an MBA from Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru to her credit. She has nearly 40 years of active teaching and research experience at the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Mysore, Mysuru. She has to her credit nearly 250 research papers, 12 books, guided 16 PhDs and 60 MLISc students and has 15 MPhil dissertations on innovative topics in library and information science. Her students are working in the public sector, corporate sector and in the libraries of government and private universities and colleges. Many of them are also working abroad in countries like the United States of America and Australia. She is the recipient of the Karnataka State Librarians’ award. She is also recognized by Rotary, Inner-wheel and a few NGOs for her teaching and research contributions. She has increased the visibility of the department by organizing many user awareness programs, seminars, workshops and hands on training. She is on the editorial board of many journals in the discipline.
